Goodbye Chris...

So last night my aunt called me and told me that they are not going to have a going away party for my cousin Chris because he was called to boot camp in San Diego at Camp Pendleton on Monday. He signed up/joined the Marines about 2 months ago and he had a set date for march but they said that they can call you anytime. Well his time is now....

We are so proud of you, and we are going to miss you so much!

You are going to be a fantastic Marine. You just have to make it through Boot Camp =) And we will see you at Graduation!!!

WE LOVE YOU!!!

Change of Plans....

Instead of going on the Disney Cruise we are going to

Disneyland!!!!

We figured that we will save the cruise for when DJ and Reagan are a little older. Plus this trip will save us at least two - three thousand dollars because we will just drive down since Anaheim is only 7 hours away from us. So we will be saving on airfare and we will also stay in a neighbor hotel. That will definitely save us some money too!

Im so excited!!

I cant wait for April 2011.

Happy 18 Months Sweet Baby Girl!!!

Happy 18 months sweet Reagan

What to do... Week 52

Last night I had my dad and sister over for dinner. My dad wanted Chicken Enchiladas for dinner so that is what I made him =) We couldn't do it on Thursday because my sister will be at work and I wanted everyone here.

Earlier while the kids were sleeping I made strawberry cupcakes. I was frosting them when they woke up and asked DJ if he wanted to help me decorate them. Well as you can see in the picture he only sprinkled the middle cupcakes... lol Then Reagan started screaming because her brother was doing something she wasn't, So I let her sprinkle a few...

My sister and her best friend Sheena. They are the goofiest girls when they are together. They are so fun!

My dad with his cupcakes, and his typical pose, always have the bird in the air...

Happy Early Birthday Daddy!!!

I was thinking about what to do next and I have decided to just keep counting up (53, 54, 55 etc) And see how far I can go before quitting =)

I couldn't find anything fun to do, I was going to do the Picture Project 365 but I was still doing BML. Oh well, If I find something fun I might switch it up!

P.S. I started Busy Moms Life with my Dads Birthday last year ;)

Flashback Friday...

Can you tell who is who???

?!?!?

One Year Ago Today...

The US Airways flight 1549 lost both engines and landed safely in the Hudson River. All 155 on board were pulled to safety and miraculously only one passenger suffered 2 broken legs and a handfull of other passengers just had bruises and minor injuries. The plane struck a flock of birds during takeoff. 2 Minutes later they had no engines.

I can not believe that it has already been a year since this happened. I watched the documentary on it called Brace For Impact last night and was amazed at how calm Captain Chesley Sullenberger was when they were playing back the audio from that day.

I am so glad that everyone was and is safe at home with their loved ones.

One of my Blogger *friends* is having her annual Preemie Onesie Drive. Her daughter was in the NICU for 4 months before passing from a heart defect. They wanted to do something for the hospital and nicu, so Rachel came up with the preemie onesie drive. Please watch the video and if you cant send any onesies you can also donate $$ so they can purchase onesies. Even if it is $1 everything helps =)

2 months till we leave for Tennessee!!!

I'm stressing! I'm trying to figure out how we are going to handle everything and get from one plane to another on the trip... My dad is going to drop us off at the airport that way we wont have to leave our car at the airport and pay for parking for a week. That can get expensive!

I figured I would carry the diaper bag and push the kids in the stroller while Dave carries the car seats. I want to bring the car seats because I know they will be crazy on the plane if I don't bring them. Plus I want them in their seats for safety. And then we could just gate check the stroller, since its going to be small.

No matter what flight we pick we are going to have to switch planes, So I am trying to figure out which would be better: Having a short layover, just enough time to get there and sit for a few minutes or have a 2+ hour layover and have to entertain the kids somehow?? I'm thinking the short layover.

I'm thinking of getting this for when we go, since I got rid of our other double stroller. Also I was thinking of getting the SafeFit Car Seat Travel Totes for the car seats. We have a Graco Nautilus for DJ and a Britax Marathon for Reagan. That way Dave can carry them with ease.

Also I am trying to find some cute luggage for the kids. I have found some rolling backpacks at walmart that have Toy Story & Princesses on them so I might just get those. I still need to buy luggage for me too... Ugh Not to mention Jackets, Warm Clothes and Shoes for the kids out there. My gramma said that it is pretty cold out there in march so I need to be prepared!

I did find a good thing about booking our tickets though... I am going to book with Southwest since they have the Wanna Get Away Rates. So one way is $179 instead of $400+ which will save us a lot of money...

well I better finish planning... blah!

March of Dimes Walk!

I am going to be Running/Walking in the 2010 March of Dimes March For Babies Walk. I did this when I was 35 weeks pregnant with DJ and omg my hands, feet and legs were swollen for 3 days! I did walk the whole 6 miles though!! I was very proud of myself!!

So I would love it if you could help me reach my goal of $1000! Anything will help, even if its $1 =)

One of my favorite commercials!!

I love the Orbitz Gum Commercials!!!

Please go to sleep.....

That is what I have been telling my 2 1/2 year old and 1 1/2 year old in the middle of the night. For some reason they think its funny to wake up at 3am and start screaming their heads off... And it takes Dave and I forever to get them back to sleep.

For Reagan I think I found the culprit.. She has 3 One Year Molars and One Upper Lateral Incisor coming in.. Poor baby girl =( So far she has:

Upper:
2 Central Incisors
1 Lateral Incisor
2 Molars.

Lower:
2 Central Incisors
2 Lateral Incisors
1 Canine (Cuspid)
2 Molars

That is a total of 12 teeth in almost 6 months.. So far Tylenol and Teething Tablets are working for her!

DJ on the other hand is soaking through his night time diaper... He wakes up with a big ring of pee around him and his clothes, blanket and pillow smell like pee. So they get washed daily. He is doing amazing with his Speech Therapy! He is learning so much and I can see a difference in his speech already!!! I'm looking around for a preschool for him. I cant believe my baby will be in preschool in the fall =( He is getting too big!!!

Well I better get back to cleaning, I want the house spotless because I wont be home tomorrow =) Dave will have the kids by himself while my Future Sister In Law and I go to the Bridal Expo!! Its gonna be so much fun!!!

I hope you all enjoy your weekend!!

Holy Cake Balls!

I made these for the family for Christmas! Everyone loved them!!

What you'll need:
  • Cake Mix (I went with Devils Food & Red Velvet)
  • Almond Bark (Chocolate/White Chocolate)
  • 2 Cans Cream Cheese Frosting (1 for each cake)
  • A handsome little boy as your Helper =)
You want to first bake your cakes. So bake your cakes as directed on the cake mix boxes.
My handsome little helper =)

Bake them ....
After they are baked and semi cooled, break the cakes up and put them in a bowl and let them cool completely in the freezer...

After they are completely cool, put 1 can of cream cheese frosting in the crumbled cake. I used my hands and it got really really messy, but I got all of the cake covered!
Here is what it looks like after the cream cheese frosting is mixed in with the cake...
You then want to make 1''-1.5'' balls. After you make all of your balls, stick them in the freezer for about 30-45 minutes. That way the get a little hard and it is easier to dip them in the chocolate...
Now for the Devils Food cake...
Here are some of the balls dipped and covered in chocolate... Yum!
And here is the finished product!!!
ENJOY!!!!!
