A short term goals for this month and why

My short term goal for February {since this is the last day of January} is to eat healthy, exercise at least 4 times a week, start p90x and lose 10lbs.

Is that a lot for a short term goal?!?

I am ready to feel good about myself and work on my weight loss!

So... Reagan and Allen are still sick. I took them to the Dr's yesterday and found out that Reagan had a bad double ear infection and Allen had a left ear infection and bronchiolitis :( They gave him a breathing treatment at the office and gave me a prescription for albuterol. I feel so bad for them, especially Allen. He is so young and he sounds like a 80 year old smoker, it breaks my heart every time he coughs.

I hope they both feel better soon. I hate it when my babies are not feeling well... Poor Allen is getting a diaper rash because of the diarrhea he is getting from the antibiotic, so we have butt cream on hand. My poor little beh behs :(

I'm not really a big superhero/cartoon fan, So I let DJ pick. DJ loves anything Spiderman, hence the 2010 Halloween costume. He fought tooth and nail for the "Black Spiderman." He would not settle for the "Red Spiderman." So I had to go to 5 different Targets to get his costume...

3 weeks old...

What Allen is doing...

Allen is now 8lbs 8oz (4 kg)

He loves to lay on my chest and snooze for hours

He is only waking up 1-2x a night for a bottle, diaper change and smooches

 He doesn't quite like the kids holding him.. {lol}

He helps hold his bottle {see above}

He is smiling and cooing a lot more.

He loves bath time

He is starting to flip the bird all the time.. {like mother, like son}

He is still in newborn diapers

He is starting to fill out his 0/3 month onesies, but not his jammies or pants.

Spring, Where are you?

I am so ready for spring to get here and for the cold weather to leave. January has been the worst month ever, except for little man's arrival of course. First I started having chest pains and was admitted into the hospital 3 days postpartum, Then I had to go back because my headache and stiff neck was not going away and found out that I have Pre E After Delivery.. WTF?!? Not to mention my kids are sick and they got Allen sick and we were at the ER all day yesterday.

DJ, Reagan and Allen are ALL sick :( I was praying that Allen would not catch what the other two have, but it was inevitable. I took Allen to the er yesterday because he was showing signs of RSV, and for those who know what RSV is, its some pretty scary stuff especially in newborns. We got to the hospital around 10:30a and waited and waited and waited... Finally they call us back! They had to do an RSV Swab and Allen did not like that, they had to stick a swab up both nostrils. They also had to put saline drops in his nose and suction out all of the boogies {not a happy little guy}. We then went into another waiting room, than god there was coffee in there cause I was tired. Then it was xray time, again he did not like that either.

We wait and wait and wait again for all of the results to come back. Finally around 3:30p the Dr comes in and says that he does NOT have RSV and that his chest is a little congested. He is now on an antibiotic for 10 days, 3x a day. Yesterday was a long day....

Day 4

A habit that you wish you didn’t have...

It's a bad habit...

I spend way too much money. I wish I was a frugal mommy and was able to stop myself. This year I am going to get better and start a budget for myself and Dave. I think to myself and contemplate on what I am going to purchase and then it all goes in one ear and out the other... This is the year to start fresh!!

Back to work...

Today was Dave's first day back to work and my first day alone with three kids...

So far things have been going great. This morning when we got home from taking Dave to work, the kids went straight into the house {no fighting} and DJ played Angry Birds on the computer and Reagan watched Toy Story 3 on the couch till we had to leave to take DJ to school.

Getting the kids into the car this morning was great. They both got into their seats without fighting, which made it go about 5 minutes faster. When we got to DJ's school, they stayed by me and didn't run off. After dropping DJ off, Reagan, Allen and I went to Target to swap out diapers and walked around and looked at all of the Valentine goodies. When it was time to pick DJ up, Reagan and Allen were great.

*Now here is where I had my "Bad Mommy Moment." After getting DJ out of his class room, I got Reagan in her seat, DJ climbed into his seat and I got Allen in the car. We were jammin out to music and having a nice drive home. When we got home I got Allen out and when I went to unbuckle DJ out of his booster seat, I realized that I DIDN'T BUCKLE HIM IN..... I felt so bad because what if we would have gotten into an accident or something happened. Thank goodness nothing happened and we all got home safe. I'm also glad that he didn't try to get up and move around.

Right now DJ and Reagan are playing nicely and Allen is asleep in his swing. Today has been a great day, I hope I don't jinx it. In a little bit we have to go pick up Dave and then come home for Reagan's speech therapy sesh.

I guess my blog name meaning is that raising kids is a big adventure. When I first started this blog, it was called "The Smith Family." I got a little bored with it, so I changed it :) I started this blog when I found out we were pregnant and I knew we were definitely in for a crazy adventure.

Post Partum Depression...

It has finally hit me. I started to notice the way I have been feeling about 3 days ago. Everything is making me cry and I feel like such a shitty mother because my older 2 are outta control right now. I know this is a big change for them and I know that it will pass, but I just can't get over that shitty feeling.

I have an appt with my Dr on the 31st to talk about my blood pressure & meds, post partum depression and my heart issues. I also need to get my referral to the cardiologist, they are such slackers. I think a lot of my depression has to do with the fact that I can't be with 3 kids at the same time. I try to give them each one on one time and do something with each of them, but its hard when Allen is screaming because he is hungry or Reagan is screaming because DJ hit her.

I am also really depressed about my weight. I knew I would have to work on my weight issues, but when I look in the mirror I just see someone who has completely let their self go. I have always had issues with my body and weight. I think high school was the only time I was actually happy with my weight and I was a size 7. I don't want to be rail thin, I just want to be healthy.

I just want this to go away...

House full of sickness...

Yup, The germ cesspool called preschool got DJ sick and then Reagan got sick. Dave and I thought we were going to get passed up, but Nope... We are feeling like complete shit :(  Runny Nose: check, Cough: Check, Fever: Check, Stuffed Up Nose: Check... All Bad!

This morning I had everyone get a Nebulizer Treatment and we are upping our OJ intake and lots of vitamins. DJ kept saying "Look mommy, I'm pumping..." hahaha

I am praying that Allen does not get sick... That would be very very bad. Its bad enough that we are all sick during the last week of Dave's vacation. He goes back to work on Tuesday. I have no idea what I'm gonna do... Eeeek!

2 week check up...

Today was Allen's 2 week appt! Appt went great and we had to reschedule his circumcision procedure for next Friday though :( But all in all, the appt went really well. Dr also showed me some moves for Allen when he is constipated. We need to help him poop...

Allen's Stats:

8lbs 3oz - 50th %tile

21 1/4 inches - 90th %tile

33cm head - 10th %tile

{Allen is 2oz bigger than DJ was at Birth.. Yikes!}

2 weeks old

Allen is 2 weeks old... I cant believe it! It seems like just yesterday we were bringing him home from the hospital. DJ and Reagan just love him to pieces and love to help me take care of him!

What Allen is doing:

Waking up between 2-3am and 5-6am to eat.

He is a great sleeper.

Starting to get great head control.

Fitting into 1 or 2 of his 0/3 month clothes.

His tummy issues are finally getting better. We switched to Enfamil Newborn.

Loves laying on his tummy.
Starting to giggle.
Loves to smile.
Starting to Coo and make those cute noises at us.


We have his 2 week appt on friday!
