A - Z

So, I saw this on my friend Holli's blog and thought... Why not!

I'm going to try the A to Z Blogging Challenge.

The deal: one post per day, Monday through Saturday starting April 1st, with each post covering a letter of the alphabet. I am currently thinking of 26 different subjects, and we'll see how I do!

Don't throw that battery....

I am so tired of walking into the e.r. because of head injuries or being sick... Last night Miss. Reagan got the lovely trip to the er. Reagan and I were going through the alphabet and DJ kept interrupting, I told him to hold on cause it was sissy's turn to say them. Well he got upset and threw a D battery at Reagan's head. Dave grabbed Reagan and I took DJ into the other room. When I came out, I noticed Reagan's hair drenched in blood. So we grabbed a towel and Dave put pressure on her head while I called my dad.

Finally got Reagan calmed down and she let us look at her head. Poor baby girl had a big gash on the left side of her head. I decided to take her to the er just in case she needed staples, stitches or a butterfly. The whole way to Folsom I was asking her what sounds animals made so she would stay awake. We got to the hospital and it was packed, I have never seen it that busy. We finally get back to triage and they asses the laceration. The nurse (same nurse that helped us when Reagan got the concussion) looked at it and was pressing on it. She said that it had clotted nicely and that she would not need staples, unless it came open while they were cleaning the area.

While we were waiting to get it cleaned, a nurse came over and gave Reagan some coloring papers and crayons. She colored for a good 15 minutes and then they called us back to get it cleaned up. While she was cleaning it, she said that it has already closed up and had clotted, so no staples! We were just waiting for the discharge papers and then it was time to head home.

When we got home she just laid on the couch and didn't fall asleep till at least midnight, so it was a long night. She woke up crying a few times because her head hurt, so I gave her some Tylenol and she went right back to sleep. She woke up this morning happy and she said that her head didn't hurt, so that is good.

I swear my kids are so accident prone, that is Dave's side. I was never like this, no stitches, no broken bones, nothing sprained... The only thing I had was surgery on my toes and a butterfly on my hand where I slid into home plate and cut the palm of my hand...

these poor kids...

Also...

My friend Kristen's 2 year old son Dylan was readmitted to the hospital last night, as he had a high fever that endangers his Leukemia. My friend Ersula is doing an online fundraiser for the family, selling Scentsy wickless candle products. All commission goes directly to the Shinohara family to help with costs associated with Dylan's treatment. Go Here if you are interested!

Rain, Rain, Go Away....

I am so tired of all the rain we are getting here in California. It's just so gloomy and cold. Plus the kids are off the hook because they cant go outside, besides DJ being at school. I am constantly trying to find little crafts for them to do, but I am running out of ideas... If you know me and my craft loving, this is not good!

I started working on my "Family Recipe Binder" this past week and am getting a lot of good recipes. I also want to rearrange the front room but with our massive sectional, its kinda hard. *sad face* I am looking for some wall decals and some cute frames for the kids pictures.

DJ was a little congested so he stayed home from school yesterday. I swear right when I got off the phone with his teacher, he became super hyper and seemed fine... Never fails. DJ & Reagan both woke up around 4:45 yesterday morning and fought their naps till the both passed out at 1pm.. Only to wake up an hour later... Ugh!

Reagan is doing amazing with her potty training! The only time she wears a pull up is at night for bed! She does great when we are out and about, and during nap time. She will let me know if she has to go and has not had an accident outside the house. I am so proud of her and our bank acct thanks her! So now its just Allen in diapers.

Allen slept from 10:30p-6:30a and woke up refreshed this morning! Then he didn't want to take his morning nap.. Silly guy! I hope he does well tonight too. He is at such a fun age and is always in a good mood, unless his tummy is growling. I swear this kid eats all the time. He loves to play on his tummy and then when hey is done, he will simply roll over and play.

A friend and I are going to start "Hot Yoga." I am super excited... Oh and I am going to start doing Zumba & Spin classes... Yay go me!

Hope you guys have a fabulous weekend!!! Plus here are a few pics of the kids!

Now off to my "Menu Planning" tab. I couldn't find any cute ones, so I bought THIS template from Iheart Organizing's Etsy site. You can also personalize it with your last name and if you want to have things already put on it.
I also downloaded a "Master Grocery List" from HERE.

Now for my "Finances" tab. Iheart Organizing has THIS cute template that you can download for free!

My "To Do" Tab.. I got THIS template from Organized Home. Its very simple and straight to the point. Love it!

"Cleaning" tab time!! This is another template from Iheart Organizing that I purchased on her ETSY site. I absolutely love it!
The next tab is "School." I haven't found any cute templates that I like yet. When I do, this section will hold each child's absences excuse forms, teacher welcome letters, phone numbers, school calendars, etc. Anything pertaining to "school" goes here.

Then the "Medical" tab. All medical & health insurance information goes here. Phone numbers, copies of insurance cards, immunization records (copies) & physical records (copies) are kept here.

*I created a spread sheet in "word" and typed up all of the names & numbers.

along with THIS Emergency List template from Organized Home.

Last but lot least the "Misc." tab. This tab has Important Dates, Birthday Stuff and anything else you want to put in it. I used the Important Dates template from Iheart Organizing HERE. The Birthday stuff I found at Organized Home, HERE and HERE.

When you make yours, let me know!! I can't wait to see all of yours!

Reagan's First Hair Cut!

I figured it was about time to get Reagan's hair cut. It basically stopped growing and a friend told me to keep trimming it and it will grow..

So I took her to Great Clips and had them cut it!

When we got there, she kinda freaked because she didn't want to sit on the chair. So we bribed her with a sucker and she sat on my lap. After that, she did great!! She now has bangs and also looks older. I think once we start going every 4-6 weeks, she will get the hang of it and feel more comfortable. Now if I could only get DJ to like getting his hair cut (that is a whole other story). So here are the before and afters!

Need Prayers...

This morning I woke up to some absolutely devastating news. One of my really good friends and a fellow July/Aug 08 Mommas son Dylan has been diagnosed with Leukemia. I am heartbroken and hurting for Kristen and her family, especially little Dylan.

Kristen took Dylan into the Dr's because of a possible ear infection and fever. They did a bunch of tests and sent them home. After they got the blood tests back they immediately sent them to PCH and Dylan was admitted. He had critical levels of wbcs (high) and rbcs and platelets (low) and diagnosed him with Leukemia. The Dr's don't know what type of Leukemia, but they think ALL (acute lymphoblastic leukemia). The good news is his wbc count dropped by 50k overnight with antibiotics. So hopefully they are on the right track.  Dylan also has some form of Autism, But he is such a lovable and happy child. Dylan is only a few weeks younger than Reagan and I could not even imagine having any of my kids go through this. No child should ever have to go through this. So they need thoughts, prayers and whatever else you do..

So please pray for Dylan and his family (Kristen, Brian and little sister Keira)

Thank You.

What Were Loving: 2.5 Months

Allen is 10 weeks today and here is what we are loving & still loving this month!

Bright Starts - Lion in the Park Activity Gym - Allen loves to talk to the toys and grab at them. Last night he kept grabbing the links and would freak out because he couldn't pull them to his mouth... hehehe

The First Years Newborn-to-Toddler Tub with Sling - Allen loves to take baths and it makes it so much easier on mommy too! He can be screaming his head off, but once his but hits that water, aahhh heaven!

Johnson's Bedtime Lotion - Allen loves a nightly massage with this lotion. Plus he sleeps so much better with it on. He has really dry skin so it helps with that, plus it makes him smell so good :)

Gerber First Essentials - Back to the cheap-o's.. Allen does better with these than the Playtex, Dr. Browns & Avent Bottles. I think its because he gets a good suction on them and the nipple is longer than the other ones. We are still fighting with him and his tongue.

Fisher Price Nature's Touch Cradle Swing - He is still loving his swing. He will nap in that thing like no ones business. I just hate that we go through so many batteries, I wish it was a plug in swing.. Oh well.. Happy Baby = Happy Mommy!

Child of Mine Striped Fluffy Fleece Blanket - This is by far Allen's favorite blanket. He has slept with it since I had him. I brought it to the hospital with me when I had him. This blanket has been puked on, peed on, pooped on, dropped in the mud and it still comes out as soft, if not softer...

This month we are going to try some of these and I will let you know next month if he likes them or not!

Bumbo - My other two loved this, Hopefully Allen will too!!!

Fisher-Price Jumperoo Luv U Zoo - Can't wait to see if he likes this one too!

What are your faves??
