Sunday Social...

Oh how I love Sunday! It means that my kids go back to school tomorrow!!!!
A-freaking-men to that!

It's also Sunday Social...

1. Did you sleepwalk as a child?
No, but my sister did. It used to freak me out!

2. Did you ever try to run away or sneak out of your house?
I did sneak out of the house ONCE and I got caught. The horrible thing about it is that I had a lame ass excuse AND I had been drinking tequila my friend. We were both 16 years old.

3. Did you have any imaginary friends?
I'm not sure, but I don't think I did. Whenever I think of Imaginary Friends, I think of this guy:

4. Did you ever go toilet papering?
Hahahaha Yes! And I went Egging! Now that I think of it, I probably could have made some pretty amazing omelets with those eggs...

5. Did you ever sneak tv shows you weren't allowed to watch?
No. My parents let us watch whatever we wanted. My friends and I did sneak into the movie Scream when we were in 6th or 7th grade. We thought it was the coolest thing and then we all went home and had nightmares..

Every little thing is gonna be OK...

This morning I thought I would link up with Amber and Neely for

Its Ok Thursdays

It's OK...

... that I have had no time to blog... Between cleaning the house, taking kids to and from school, surrogacy stuff and every little thing in between, I have not had time.

... that my 2 1/2 year old still takes a bottle. His teeth, speech and everything else are fine.. Plus, he is my last baby...

... that I have had Dutch Bros 3 days in a row... Don't Judge!

... that I am planning on tossing all of my kids toys out, except for a few toys each. Time to de-clutter.

... that I am getting my son tested for ADD/ADHD. I absolutely HATE the dirty looks and asshole comments some people are giving.

... that I am probably more excited for Reagan to start her Cheer Clinic next week than she is!

... that I am so freaking anxious for my cycle {period} to start tat way I can fly to LA and get my Sonohysterogram and Psych Eval done.

... that I don't feel like folding mounds of clothes every single day. {I kinda screw myself since I have to do it all the next day!}

... that I am more excited for football to get here than my friends. I am not a baseball fan.

I guess that's it for today...

Misc Monday...

Things have been so busy lately, I haven’t really had any time to really sit down and throw together a blog post. I know, * tisk tisk * I have been dealing with allergies that have turned into head colds, DJ’s Jog-A-Thon, New IP’s and everything in between.

Last Sunday I had a luncheon with the director of my agency and a few local surros! I love getting together with them. I also got an amazing and thoughtful delivery from my agency on Tuesday!

My Gramma got into town on Thursday night. She will be on the west coast for about a month. My cousin graduates college in a few weeks and she will be driving to Oregon to attend.

DJ had his Jog-A-Thon on Friday. He ran 21 laps and had a lot of fun! His goal was to get at least $100 in Sponsor Pledges, that way he could attend the school Pizza Party… Well, this little stud muffin raised $200 in Sponsor Pledges!!! He was very proud of himself!

Since our first set of IP’s backed out 2 weeks ago, we received a new IP Profile on Friday! After I looked at it, I sent it to Dave. We both agreed that we would love to go forward with them! I have such a different feeling with them. A sense of calmness and I now know that this was meant to be! I am now just waiting for my caseworker to email/call me with a date for our big conference call! Surrogacy Blog!

Today is Dave’s last day at his current job! He starts his new job tomorrow! Better Hours, Better Pay, Room to Grow! All in all, it is the perfect decision. We are very excited!

{my hair 2 years ago...}

I have had the biggest urge to cut my hair, but I want to grow it out. I do need a trim though! Maybe I just need a little change, like a different color… I don’t want to go too crazy.

I guess that’s it for me…

Hope everyone has a great Monday!

New...

So, if you follow my Surrogacy Blog, then you know what is going on... If you don't follow, I will fill you in.  Our IP's have decided to back out and try to have a baby on their own again. So that means that we are starting back at square one. Our profile is back to Active and we are now waiting to get matched again. My caseworker has been sending our profile out to couples, so I am praying that we are matched soon!

Since I have lost over 20lbs, I decided that it was time to put new family pictures in our profile :) So we went over to my dads yesterday before my luncheon with my surrogacy group.

Here is the first picture we sent in:

And here are the ones that we took yesterday!!

Hopefully we hear something soon!

April is Parkinson's Awareness Month...

Today, more than four million people around the world suffer from Parkinson's Disease. The disease is chronic and progressive, with symptoms ranging from tremor, stiffness, rigidity, and pain to speech and swallowing, memory loss and depression. Because of the complexity of this disease, patients and their families, as well as physicians and health care professionals, need access to the most effective care and treatment information available.

We found out last year that Dave's dad {my fil} had tested positive for Early Stages of Parkinson's. Within a few months of seeing them, we could notice a huge difference in the way he walked, stood and even talked. Dave's father and step mother moved back up to Sacramento from Arroyo Grande last week. Dave, his Brother and Sister in Law all went over to their house to help with unpacking and moving stuff around. He pulled his boys aside and told them that his Parkinson's has gotten worse, fast.

My heart hurts for not only my husband and my bil, but also my children. Dave and his brother lost their mother in 2000 from Lung Cancer and now their father. I am praying that my fil will be able to see all of his grand kids graduate high school. Right now, the life expectancy for his type of Parkinson's is 5-12 years.

My FIL has Atypical Parkinsonism. As of Right now he has one of these two forms:

Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP)
  • PSP is one of the more common forms of atypical Parkinsonism.
  • Symptoms of PSP usually begin after age 50 and progress more rapidly than PD.
  • These symptoms include: imbalance, frequent falls, rigidity of thetrunk, voice and swallowing changes and (eventually) eye-movement problems including the ability to move eyes up and down.
  • Dementia develops later in the disease. There is no specific treatment for PSP.
  • Dopaminergic medication treatment is often tried and may provide some benefit.
  • Other therapies such as speech therapy, physical therapy, and antidepressants are important for management of patients with PSP.
  • No laboratory/brain scan testing exists for PSP. In rare cases, some patients may have shrinking of a particular part of the brain, called the “Pons”, which can be seen on an MRI of the brain.

OR

Multiple System Atrophy (MSA)
  • MSA is a larger term for several disorders in which one or more system in the body deteriorates.
  • Included in the category of MSA are: Shy-Drager syndrome (DSD), Striatonigral degeneration (SND) and OlivoPontoCerebellar Atrophy (OPCA).
  • The mean age of onset is in the mid-50s.
  • Symptoms include: bradykinesia, poor balance, abnormal autonomic function, rigidity, difficulty with coordination, or a combination of these features.
  • Initially, it may be difficult to distinguish MSA from Parkinson’s disease, although more rapid progression, poor response to common PD medications, and development of other symptoms in addition to Parkinsonism, may be a clue to its diagnosis.
  • No laboratory/brain scan testing exists to confirm the diagnosis of MSA.
  • Patients respond poorly to PD medications, and may require higher doses than the typical PD patient for mild to modest benefits.

April is also Parkinson's Awareness Month.

So for the whole month of April, I have Fundraisers on all three of my websites. 100% of the proceeds will be sent to the National Parkinson's Foundation in my FIL's name. If you would like to learn more about Parkinson's, click here.

If you would like to help a great cause and purchase from the fundraisers, please click here for Scentsy, Velata & Grace Adele.

Thank you!

Sheesh...

A whole week without blogging.. Things have been so busy lately..

This will just be my recap of everything that has happened over the last week...

Tuesday, I had my weight check for my Surrogacy stuff. Everything went pretty well. I hate that the dr scale is always a pound or two off.. lol We are still waiting on a yay or nay from the agency/ivf dr for the go ahead.. I also posted this picture and didn't realize until I got bombarded with facebook comments... Ooops!

{No babies here!!}

Thursday, Allen had a horrible reaction to the grass. His arms, face & legs were covered in hives/welts and red splotchy areas.. He was breathing fine, so I didn't have to use the Epi-Pen, but bad enough I had to run to the store and grab some benadryl. I called his ped and they wanted to see him that day. The benadryl helped about 75% of the reaction, so he was getting some every 4-6 hours. Poor guy :(

Saturday we had a few birthday parties to go to.. The kids had a lot of fun and got to tie-dye shirts! I also made Homemade Monkey Bread!! The kids devoured it!!

Sunday was Easter!! The kids had so much fun hunting for eggs and playing with their Easter Baskets!!

Sunday was also the day my husband had a complete breakdown when our Two year old threw the remote at our not even 2 month old tv.. Yes, Allen should know better than to throw things, but he has to remember that it is just a tv. Allen realizes that he did something wrong and keeps telling Dave "sorry daddy, I broke the tb.." :( The tv can be replaced..

{Warranty covers everything except theft and if we do something to it...}

Yesterday, I had errands to run so my dad kidnapped Allen and they decided to go to the California Academy of Science. My dad said that Allen was amazing and that he actually had to pry Allen away from each exhibit. Allen would just sit there and watch the fish for a good 20 minutes. This little boy loves anything and everything that has to do with sea life! He is also infatuated with Nemo! He watches that movie at least 2-3 times a day and doesn't get sick of it.

If you got through all of this... Congratulations!

Hope you all have a great day!!
