DJ's Surgery has finally approached. We have to be at the surgery center at 5:45am in the morning. DJ cant eat or drink anything after midnight tonight. He's going to be a little upset when he doesn't get his waffle and milk in the morning :( But he does get to go in his jammies :)
When we get there I have to fill out all of the paperwork and all the other things that go along with the surgery. We will then be taken to a pre-op room where DJ will get into a gown and the nurse and anesthesiologist will come in and talk with me. I have to tell him that both my mom and dad have had trouble with anesthesia. It took my dad 4 days too come out of it after his hernia surgery. So that really freaks me out.
After that I will go with him to the surgery room until he gets ready to go under, They will give him a "Premedication" so he is a little groggy. Then i will give him kisses and go wait in the waiting room. The Dr. said that the whole procedure of putting the tubes in, cleaning them, putting drops in, and cotton his ears only takes about 20 minutes.
After the Surgery he will be wheeled into the recovery room and be monitored by a nurse. We will then get to go into the recovery room and be with DJ while he wakes up. He will get some juice and maybe a little snack. If all is well, we will get to leave after about 1 hour in the recovery room. We will get ear drops for after the surgery with Dr instructions.
Hopefully everything goes as planned and nothing happens. When we get back tomorrow, i will update on how he is doing.
