Today DJ and I went to the County Fair with my friend and her daughter. It was such a nice day and we all had a great time :) DJ and I needed a really good mother/son day, just him and i :)
We get to the fair and DJ is so ready to go in and see all the rides and fun stuff. So we are walking to the gate and he keeps having to fix his sunglasses.. hehehe he it too cute!
We finally get up to the booth to pay and DJ and Sophie play while we are waiting in line. Kids under 12 were free and adults were $3 so it wasn't bad at all.
When we get in we decide to do the livestock/animals first because if we do the rides first, were not going to get the kids away from them. So we see a pony ride that DJ and Sophie want to do. He was so cute when he was on the horse, he kept yelling "Yee Haw" everyone was giggling :)
We get to the livestock and DJ isn't too sure about being up close and personal with them so he just stands back and watches.
We go out to where the cows are and one of the cows start "Mooing" really loud and DJ runs behind my leg and peeks out at the cow. I was cracking up!
After the cows, we saw that the horses were across the way so we headed over that way :) There was a horse in the first stall and it had a paper on its door that read "PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH ME, I AM VERY MEAN. I WARNED YOU!!!" Shannon and I were laughing so hard! So we walked over to the nicer horses. DJ finally started to put hay in his hands and feed the horses. He loved it because the horse was tickling his hand. He would giggle every time.
Finally we were on our way to the rides. We got the kids wrist bands so they could ride as many rides and they wanted to. Shannon took DJ and Sophie on the mini roller coaster. He was too cute waiting in line. He kept saying "Ride, Ride, Ride..."
They were on and going! you can kinda see his head in the picture :)
After his ride on the coaster i got him a sno cone. He was loving that thing! He wouldn't even let me have a bite.. lil stinker!
We went on a few more rides then it was off to the Farris Wheel. Shannon hates them! So we all went on it. DJ kept trying to stand up in it and it was making me nervous. Finally he stayed seated and rode the ride like a big boy!
We went over to the kiddie rides and we rode on the tea cups. He was having so much fun spinning it and then getting dizzy and laughing. He was very serious when he would spin it but then when it got going he would start laughing. He kept sliding over because it was pulling him.
He went on the baby Farris wheel with Sophie and he did really good. you can see his fingers poking out of the cage in the picture... hehehe
Finally we were ready to go, we were there from 12 to 5pm so it was a long day in the sun. And of course my shoulders got sun burned AGAIN... UGH! So on our way out I got the kids some Icees. DJ was so excited!
We got the kids in the car and by the time we hit the freeway DJ was out! He was so tired.
All in all it was a great day for DJ and I.
